Shock Of Diagnosis

The Shock of Diagnosis

The shock accompanying a diagnosis is prevalent in nearly every serious illness case I've encountered. It instills profound terror and fear in patients.

> "Imagine standing before a judge who decrees, 'You face a prolonged, agonizing demise. Your loved ones will be left financially ruined and emotionally drained.'"

Few things are as devastating as a cancer diagnosis. Some clients have even contemplated suicide upon hearing the grim news. I've observed that the shock from a diagnosis exacerbates every condition. It's the first issue we tackle in our sessions.

This shock can lead to metastatic cancer. Consider a scenario where a patient learns he has prostate cancer. The dread for his life leads to the development of multiple lung tumors. Coupled with the feeling of being sexually devalued, he starts suffering from osteoporosis in his hip bones. Fear of treatments depleting his finances, leaving nothing for his family, results in liver cancer. If the osteoporosis starts to heal, he might even be wrongly diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer).

It's crucial to understand that the fear, terror, and shock stemming from the diagnosis can be addressed promptly, and this is the initial step towards combating serious illnesses. Home
