Carpal Tunnel Symptoms

What are carpal tunnel symptoms?

You may suspect that you have carpal tunnel symptoms when it hurts to grab onto something. Your wrist feels weak and tender. You may also feel numbness and pain that runs up your arm.

Most people recover from CTS (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) after several weeks of resting the affected hand and wrist. However, for those of you with chronic or recurring CTS, unresolved conflicts continue to exist. This page is meant for you.

Repetitive actions, such as typing, working a cash register, or playing musical instruments, often receive the blame. However, it is my experience that every case has an underlying conflict.

The Emotional Conflicts Behind CTS

  • You feel your skills have been devalued or dismissed.
  • You are in conflict about having to reject someone you don't want to reject — leading to feelings of self-depreciation.
  • You feel forced to work at something you don't want to do, and feel devalued by the work itself.
  • You cannot forgive or let go of past grief or wrongdoing — and that inability to release leaves you feeling worthless.

Case Studies

William, age 35, was a welder who found the pain so severe he could no longer work. In our sessions, we found that his foreman had been mocking his work — calling it "kindergarten quality." Once William chose to face and release those feelings, he healed instantly. He quit his job and is now happily self-employed.

Steve, age 48, worked as a bagger in a grain mill. He developed CTS and could no longer perform his job. Steve was highly competitive, and there was another bagger who consistently outpaced him. By addressing his self-devaluation conflict, the CTS vanished immediately and never returned.

ECIWO acupuncture can also provide relief from CTS in as little as two days by massaging the heart and lung points on the affected hand. For lasting resolution, addressing the underlying emotional conflict is essential — Inner Influencing® is the most effective tool I have found for this.
